About

Paul Baines

Social misfit and all round troublemaker Paul Baines offers a unique selection of skewed views of modern society. Giclee prints and limited edition prints available. Paintings planned for later this year. All limited edition prints come with a signed, numbered and dated certificate of authenticity.

"I'm a pretentious old git with an aversion for all the other pretentious old gits who have their hands on the steering wheels of power and won't let go – even if Rigor mortis has set in. There are too many people, there are too many wars, there's too little time and too much fear and paranoia, and all the power is still in the hands of the few. Politics has died and has been replaced by the worst soap opera ever written. War is a business. Life is a joke. Religion is a weapon. Celebrity is a religion. The poverty gap is wider than the Grand Canyon and I'm sick of it all. We've run out of everything and we are still screwing like rabbits. If there was a one-way ticket to another inhabitable planet I'd beg, borrow or steal to get on that flight. If life is a rollercoaster ride then I have just been sick all over your jacket."

Check out the latest work on offer here. If you want me to be in your show or donate a piece to your charity then you will have to wait, since my dad died recently,  I'm holding back on the screen prints and painting until later this year.
