The latest group show at the London Miles Gallery will take its inspiration from dusty old book covers of iconic written works by the greats of literature. Whether inspired by a novel, poem, or a poignant phrase from their chosen literary piece, 30 artists from across Europe are recreating how they visually and literally interpret their all-time favourite reading matter into a painting. Artists have chosen excerpts from a broad range of authors as diverse as Dr. Seuss to William Shakespeare. Examples include digital painter Tom Bagshaw's interpretation of ‘A Midsummers Night Dream’ by William Shakespeare, Nom Kinnear King paints ‘The House of Sprits’ by Isabel Allende and Camilla D'Errico takes inspiration from the Opera “Aida” by Giuseppe Verdi. The show opens in an all new gallery space in East London!! Opening on Thursday, May 12th 2011 from 6pm to 11pm, 65 Hanbury Street. Shoreditch. EI 5JP
