El Gato Chimney is an artist and printmaker who's been on the international scene for at least a decade, I came across his work via Flickr and was really impressed with his portfolio. my poor Spanish tells me his pseudonym means something along the lines of "The Smoky Cat", and he's also half of a duo behind Pressurescapes which he runs alongside his younger partner Emma Malic, a printmaking student at the Academy Of Fine Arts Of Brera in Milan.
He started his career as a self taught artist and a well known street artist in the day, citing the scene as a continuous inspiration for his work alongside steampunk culture and surrealism. Here's a quote from the man himself:-
"…discover a Bosch-like world where fields made of melty pink icing goodness leave place to abandoned carnivals dripping with desolation and rust – a world seemingly uninhabited by humans, even though flying teapots and tiny metal beings call it their home. [ ]… take in every little detail of the dreamy landscapes, bursting with vivid colours and amazingly lively creatures, only waiting to tell you their own version of the story."
So if you like your art candy colour coated and brimming with psychoactive Daliesque meltfests, you've come to the right place. Amazing surrealist paintings that evoke everything from acid flashbacks to childhood memories. A trip to say the least.

Cool, cool works. Hmm…looks like I’ve seen these before in my friend design magazine, in an article discussing tipography if I’m not mistaken, but I don’t remember what magazine it is.
Good to hear El Gato’s getting some publicity at last
