Rich Tu

NY-based illustrator Rich Tu is responsible for a wealth of imagery, you've probably seen his work in popular publications such as The New Yorker, The New York Times, SWINDLE Quarterly, SLAM as well as a whole pile of shows and the walls of New York Galleries. He's been commissioned by G-shock watches, Bombay Sapphire gin, created official art for Alfa Romeo and has a stack of prizes on his mantelpiece too. So what's the big fuss? A strong sense of tone and minimum colour palette, a traditional Japanese painting style, and a slap bang up-to-date sense of humour make up for some superb pieces.

Rich has even produced a couple short graphic novels, which can be seen on his website at www.richtu.com where he also maintains a blog packed with eye candy, keeping his fans updated with everything he likes, sees and is currently working on. Most recently Tu has collaborated with New York Times writer Theodore Ross, creating illustration for a 4-part non-fiction series Townies, where Theodore discusses the ins and outs of his life, especially around marriage and journalism.
