Papercut Dresses

West Australian artist Sue Codee has taken papercut art to the outer edges of fashion with her collection of lace-effect dresses which incorporate scenes from the "everyday", be it the family, home, household objects, animals and more. Her passion for the art of paper cut has resulted from extensive travel in Asia (from the geographical isolation of West Australia, Asia is our closest and most accessible neighbour) and a need to create 'slow art' in order to 'slow life'.

A folk art that takes incredible patience and meticulous attention to detail, one wrong cut and a piece can be ruined. Described as almost working in a state of trance, Sue Codee dives in deep into her own near meditative state in order to complete each one. It'd be nice to see a Buddha dress whilst she's there?
