One of my favourite sculptors Thom Puckey, a very talented guy I have posted about before in the past in Sex, Drugs, Guns and Sculpture is currently exhibiting his latest show in Museum Centro Pecci, Prato, Italy, has just released photos of three of his latest works. Beautiful and controversial as ever, he continues in exploration further into a militaristic emancipation of woman, splicing desire and violence in some of the most sophisticated examples of urban sculpture. Once again heightening the frissance between the primal urges of the human condition for sexual desire and physical violence, with a clean and clear sense of form, texture and detail reminiscent of the height of Ancient Greek and 18th/19th Century marble sculptors.
Here are the details of the show which runs until January 2011:
From Friday, May 28, 2010
to Sunday, January 9, 2011
Hours: 10.00/19.00, Tuesday Closed, Wed from June 8, every Wed 10.00/23.00.
