I stumbled across an amazing arts agency the other day, Allen Spiegel Fine Arts represent some of the my favourite painters and illustrators out there right now. Most of them are probably already well known to you, but seeing as we've hit the midweek hump I thought I'd treat you to an extravaganza of eye candy that's so good you'll feel positively "stuffed" for the rest of the day. Most if not all of their artists have been commissioned on a whole raft of major commission projects including dreaded advertising campaigns, (ah well they need to pay their bills), games and cool comic art covers for various titles.
So without further a due here's my faves from Allen Spiegel's legion of talent:
Thom Ang
Thom Ang's previous work includes the position of art director for EA Games Medal of Honor franchise and lead artist for Disney Interactive. Other clients include Business Week, The Village Voice, Random House, Jim Henson Studios, White Wolf, Topps (X-Files and The Art of Star Wars) and both DC and Marvel Comics. He currently working for THQ developing and marketing video games.
Phil Hale

Phil Hale is an American Artist based in London. His most recent show was Mockingbirds/Relaxeder at the Jerwood Space in June 2005. A two book set has been published by Donald Grant Publishing based on this recent exhibition and is available from ASFA in the product section. He was even commissioned to paint a portrait of Tony Blair, great painting but a crappy PM, although it's only got worse ever since he left.
August Hall
Born in Albuquerque, New Mexico. No one knows his background. Allen Spiegel found the artist wandering the hills of the Pecos Wilderness, eating berries and conversing with the Yeti. Some say they have spotted him wandering the halls of Pixar Animation, ILM, and Dreamworks.
John J Muth

John is a children's book illustrator based in upstate New York. Jon J Muth's children's books have received numerous awards and critical acclaim.
Greg Ruth
Greg Ruth has worked in comics since 1993 and has created published work for The New York Times, DC Comics, Paradox Press, Fantagraphics Books, Caliber Comics, Dark Horse Comics and The Matrix. He has shown his paintings in New York, Houston, and Baltimore, also exhibiting a series of murals at New York's Grand Central Terminal in 2002. He recently completed a six-issue series for Dark Horse entitled Freaks of the Heartland with writer Steve Niles, more comics for The Matrix and is developing children's books, and film and television material through Narrative Arts Inc. including The Woodland Chronicles, The Orphan's Club, Hamlet, and The Dead Letter Office.
John Van Fleet
Hopefully your eyes are sufficiently satiated for the day, keep an eye out for more eye candy feasts in the future! Check out all of the fine talent available for commission at www.allenspiegelfinearts.com.
