11 Graffiti Works Auctioned For Charity At Bonhams

If you love urban art, have a thick wad of dosh burning a hole in your pocket and want to contribute to charity in a big way then head on down to Bonhams Art Auction in London on the 24th February 2009.

For those who thought that graffiti was senseless vandalism, here’s another shot in the bow of staid and uptight nimby culture, 11 of the greatest international urban artists have each donated a piece of their work to a prestigious arts auction and all the proceeds raised will be contributed to the veritable Prostate Cancer Society and help towards their efforts in ending this terrible disease.

The auction, artists, their work and the cause have all been highlighted at the site www.artists11.com in order to raise public consciousness of the condition and the facts. Research shows that 1 in 11 men suffer from prostate cancer, even if you don’t have the cash to bid on a classic piece of urban art you can still donate directly at their website at www.prostate-cancer.org.uk.

The role call for the event is astounding including works by D*Face, Blek Le Rat (Godfather of Graffiti), Pure Evil and Pete Fowler amongst others! Every piece sold at the auction is guaranteed to be a highly collectible and desirable slice of urban art history so if you’re thinking of investing in street art and graffiti, this would be the time to do it. What’s more you’ll be saving lives in the process.

So there you have it, graffiti saves lives.
